Did the bearing go, so that the fins hit the housing?
That's what I was thinking as the next possibility. There should be witness marks.

If the MAF is 100% intact and nothing could have entered the path between the MAF and the turbo, then something wrong with the turbo its self.

If the bearings were bad you may have noticed a stronger/louder whistle from the turbo. It is also possible that the metal just failed in the compressor wheel but I would think such a problem would show up early in the life of the turbo.

YES, I CAN SEE MARKS IN THE HOUSING.
YES, i did noticed a stronger/louder whistle from the turbo.

why would a bearing fail, with a low low milage turbo ??
i am going to send it back to turbonectics, and see what they tell me.
they rebuilt it,

Had the same issue.
It usually is a balancing issue.
Lucky it did not blow a valve, piston, etc.
Bet it smoked like an SOMEOFAB**** too.
