Hello , im new here and have a question. Im thinking of replacing the Jeep with GN and im curious how you went about getting financeing on your car. I pulled the loan value off edmonds online just to see what it would say on a low mileage GN in excellent condition. @$5,100. I wish!
I posted this question on another board and didnt hear much, so im hoping you guys will have some input. I plan to buy after the first of the year. Thanks for your time.

I think that www.nada.com is a lot closer to the real value/sale price. Didn't have any problem financing mine - but that was 17 years ago and it was new. I've financed a few similar things. You absolutely need to do your homework. Show the loan officer the nada retail value, auction prices/sale prices from e-bay, Kirban has prices of the GN and T-Types they have sold over the years and if you can, have the car appraised. As this is a high value used vehicle, a written statement as to mechanical condition may help. It is usually easier to convince a credit union than a bank. If you know what you are going for, know and can demonstrate what it is worth and have a good credit rating, you should not have a huge problem. Remember you are selling the fact that this item is worth more than what you are borrowing along with the fact that you'll pay them back regardless of what happens - and good intentions don't count. Good luck.

Thanks for the info. I noticed Kirban sell or offers cars through a dealership. Am i correct?

I agree with swt_86---have them check NADA retail----it never ceases to amaze me everytime i check it.
Look for a credit union of some kind--everyone is running specials right now.My credit union is running the craziest promo i have ever seen. You can finance ANY car,ANY year for full nada retail for up to 72 months at 4.99% --just crazy

Good luck

Geoff

I wish i could buy now, but i have to wait till after the first of the year. I will make sure i hit all the credit unions up and see what they have to offer. And you are right, nada has much more accurate pricing info. Thanks.

Cool, i might come to one of your cruise nights. I also have a 02 GTP. No turbo, but at least its got a supercharger.
Has anyone read "Kirbans Guide To Buying a Used 86-87 Buick Turbo Regal" ?? Im just wondering if its worth the $25.???

Yeah...the Jeep was fun for a while. But after riding around in the wifes GTP i now want something fast, quiet, and comfortable.
Sounds like the GN to me!

I paid quite a bit for my low mileage car about a year ago. The banks wouldn't give me a car loan due to the age of the car. Instead they gave me a personal loan and took a lien on the GN. Plus, the interest rate was outrageous! But I just had to buy it... Luckily, my friend works at the bank now so I refinanced this year and got the papers to the car.
