any of the experts make a chip for 50 pph Delphi injectors that will pass Calif. smog test ? I would want it to run closed loop at idle; have enough EGR to keep NOX within specs; enough fuel to run 23 lbs.. boost at full throttle on 91 octane gas with alcohol;lock the TCC at 60 mph at normal acceleration and turn on the fan at 175 degrees. Is it possible to have a clean air tubo Buick with 50 pph injectors, or am I asking too much.

TurboDave used to live in CA and run 50s and his cars (and wifes) passed all the time. So, yes it is possible. Talk to any one of the chip makers on the board.

gofastbuick, thankyou for the response. I'll send a note to TurboDave. I also want to thank you for your many answers to questions in this tech arena. It has been an excellent learning experience for me.

Harry,

We've had cars with injectors as big as 96 lbs pass CA emmissions without any problems. If the chip calibration is right and the car is in a good state of tune with a new O2sensor, fresh cat and functional EGR system it should be smooth sailing.

Hello Harry,

I'm not too far from you. I recently had my car tested test-only (as usual!) and it passed with 72's and a fairly fresh TH 3" cat using a regular 18* timing street (i.e, not emissions) chip from Brutal 6 Racing. The results would likely have been better had I changed the heated 02 sensor prior to the test, but I did not. So-- have faith, it is possible!

EDIT: Oops, looks like Neal already beat me to it!

'87 GN with the infamous "wadded up rag" trick to keep oil off the DS valve cover, plus a few go faster parts to boot.

Thankyou Neal and Morgan for your responses. I bought this Regal new in 87 and now have time to try and make it a little faster. I just recently passed the smog test with the following results: %CO2---14.5---%02---0.3 HC(PPM)---ME--109---MAX. ALLOWED---110 CO(%)---ME--0.13---MAX. ALLOWED---0.71 NOX(ppm)---ME---107---MAX. ALLOWED---772 This test was taken with stock injectors and stock chip. With the other changes I've made I want to upgrade to the 50pph injectors from stock 17yr. old ones. So being in need of a chip I find out that TurboDave and JTesta don't make chips anymore. I've sent a note to Eric at turbotweak--- no answer yet. --- Harry
