First off, my Cam sensor has a screw that is broken off, and the cap just kind of flaps around, not too bad though. What problems will this cause? I will be getting a new one in a few days.

Also, my volt light comes on just when I have the ignition on and it goes away when I turn the car on. I just replaced the battery (there was corrosion on the bolt, and the battery/bolt was stripped).

Any help appreciated, thanks.

The cap is keyed to the base, as long as this "keying" is intact, you could rubberband the cap on and it would work as long as the rubberband lasts.

That is correct behavior for the volt lamp, nothing wrong there!

The volt light is supposed to be on when the engine is not running. It verifies that the sense line to the alternator is intact. When the light isn't on.... then you have problems.
