Guys,
Have any of you installed a GP Sorensam Cam Shaft Sensor on your car? If so, any issues?

Thanks

I installed one a few months ago. That's not enough time to judge, but so far, so good.

With that said, it did not resolve the problem: noise. It was much better and shaft play was less than the one I removed.

The noise went away when I did the timing set. There was so much play in the chain that I suspect cam rotation was not fluid, therefore the sensor rotation was stop-and-go, therefore noise.

This one will be going into a new car. I called John's Performace today and a delco unit is $250! His cost!

GP Sorenson is fine.
Your aftermarket choices are limited.
You've got Borg-Warner, which was a division of Dana, which sold the line to Standard Motor Products (SMP).
And, you've got Sorenson.
And, you've got AC Delco, which isn't actually made by Delco.

So, bottom line is, you're getting about the same thing, whichever route you take.

I've run plenty of Borg-Warner replacement sensors over the years, with no problems. I've also run SMP. It's just a matter of which Parts Store chain you go to, as they'll usually carry only two lines. One will be B-W, SMP, or GP Sorenson, and the other will be a branded line like AC Delco or Motorcraft.
