I am trying to find out what sensor is the one that goes in front of the MAF on the intake tract? I have seen it on a few cars but mine does not have one. It looks like there is a grey plug for it though.
That is the air temperature sensor. To my knowledge, its not needed for normal operation. I only use it to see what the temperature of the air is thats comming into the engine.
Thats the manifold air temp (MAT) sensor. You should have one on your car, the temp reading the computer gats from this sensor helps dictate air/fuel ratios.
It does very little to effect the over all fuel/spark management of the car.....alot of people let them hang loose in the engine compartment. (I personally have mine installed)
