I'm switching to synthetic this year and I'm a little concerned with my oil pressures.
I have the high volume kit and the bypass is blocked. Also, I have the PTE turbo saver kit (relocation for oil filter).
Anyway, I immediately noticed my oil pressure was pegged..well, it was around a constant 60-80 psi when first started. So, I dropped the spring down to lower the pressure and now I get a constant 30 psi....mid throttle or wot...stayed around there....really hot days would drop the idle down about 20 psi (10ish).
So, is the bypass doing this or is this a result of running the wrong filter on the PTE kit (AC P35L). I'm thinking that the synthetic is only going to make the issue more noticeable, so I thought I'd ask.
No, I can't replace the bypass without replacing the entire front cast...so that isn't an option. More importantly, what pressure should I be happy with?
...oh, I was running 10-40 valvoline (non-synthetic).
Thanks,
