this problem happened last weekend. i drove my t-type home and parked it -- it was running just fine. the only things i did to it was remove my fuel pressure gauge (it broke, and one of the fittings was leaking), and re-install my schraeder valve in its place. when i tried to fire the car up, it wouldn't. it just cranks, and occasionally chugs a little like it is about to kick over, but never quite does. i pulled the spark plugs, and they were wet with gas. i dried them and tried it again, but the same thing happened. i made sure the rail is getting pressure -- i depressed the schraeder valve while someone turned on the pump to make sure no air was in the system. i also thought it might be spark... i just replaced the coil pack with one of an unknown brand from NAPA. however, all coils test at 11.6 ohms, which is apparently within tolerance. any other ideas what could have gone wrong while the car was just sitting there? any other things to test? i'm about out of ideas here. i sure hope its not anything in the ECM... it is pulled out of its housing and is sitting on the passenger side floorboard with the EPROM cover off. i hope one of my passengers didn't kick it while we were doing donuts on the ice that night!

ok, there's definately some wierd things going on: firstly, the spark plugs don't seem to be firing. i pulled a plug wire and stuck an extra plug on it while i had someone crank the car, and it didn't spark at all. that is probably why the car isn't starting.

also, the radiator fan now comes on when the key is turned to anything but "run." even if you take the key out, the fan still runs. and if the ecm/sol fuse is pulled, it stays on even in "run." (i found out my ecm/sol fuse has been blown probably since i bought the car). if you wiggle around the fan relay that is closest to the firewall (i think it's the coolant fan delay relay) the fan shuts off. looking at the diagrams, i can't see how problems with these relays would affect the engine running though. hmm, maybe something is wrong with the ignition switch?

also, i noticed that my ECM probably got a little wet (i'm guessing from our snowy boots being on it down on the floorboard). as i said, the EPROM cover is off, so water could have gotten inside on the computer's boards. could this have anything to do with it? any way to test the computer?

Car wont run without the ECM/SOL fuse in good condition, so I doubt it's been blown since you got it. Without that fuse working the ECM isn't working at all and thus, no spark (or anything else for that matter). Getting the ECM wet is proabably what caused the ECM fuse to blow, among other nasty things in the ECM. It's a good probability that it's fried.

well, the car definately doesn't have spark. that's the reason for it not running.

i've read a thread about someone who had a blown ecm/sol fuse and their car still ran... plus it explains some wierd things my car has been doing, like always throwing code 31s even when the wastegate solenoid is unplugged and unhooked and the car makes full boost, and the car getting crappy gas mileage (torque converter lockup is on the ecm/sol circuit too).

the way i figure it, it's either the ignition module or the ECM. is there any way to test either of these?
