I'm kind of new to the GN game. I own an 87 GN thats very built and runs fantastic, I woun't bore you with the details, starting tonight it was running very poorly just out of the blue and I couldn't figure out what the problem was. After screwing around under the hood for I while I just went to turn the car off, shut the light offs first as always and it instantly began to run great again. I tested the lights theory several times. Headlight switch? Alternator?, newly installed stereo(direct replacement)?. NEED HELP!!!! ANY THOUGHTS!!!

Check your battery too.

possibly the altenator too.

the problem is probably hiding in one of those 3 things.

Check your battery cable.

Follow the negative cable from the battery and make SURE to other end is connected to the engine, usually on the head below the turbo.

Dont forget about the ground wire from the battery to the right side fender. We've all seen many of them disconnected or melted.

Rough running

Went down the list, less the alterator which I will have checked today, everything checks out OK. Any other ideas
