Appreciate your help/opinions about what type of gasket, design/material would best meet my needs. My thinking is that there is a lot of wealth of info out there that you guys have experienced when using these heads. I did contact Champion Tech, and they did provide me with different gaskets to consider, but not to place too much emphasis on stock gaskets (won't hold up too well with higher boosts beyond 18-19 lb range). Thank you for your comments.

I have a set of Alum Champion GN heads (seat pressure 95-100 lb range) ready to install in my GN that will see more street duty but with occasional flogging at the track. Boost will likely be in the 20-23 lb range (track:D). Also, I don't go on the cheap with race fuel.

Other: Spring seat pressure in the 95-100 lb range, appropriate converter, cam and turbo to follow. Dn pipe in, headers and tranny in plus a few other goodie incidentals.:)

Comectics or 2 84-85 on each side. Not sure if the 84-85 gaskets would work on alum heads.Im sure that Comectic can hook you up with an HG.

Sorry to get off topic but what kind of cam are you planning on putting in??? If your going to go roller youll probably be better off with no head change until you get your cam/lifters/etc.he springs you have on there now should be allright for a flat tappet cam.

I don't think there is a problem with running GN1's and stacked steels...I believe Jason Cramer does it...

Thx Broke: I am going to run a Comp Cam kit, 212 grind (not a roller, but flat tapett with juice lifters). But now that you brought this up, I talked to a tech guy at Comp Cams and mentioned whether the cam came with the third lobe (exhaust) machine tapered in the opposite direction--didn't know.
Lassiter does have this lobe machined as such when ordered through him.

Thx again for your info on the gaskets

No problems:)

IMO you shouldnt cheap out when you replace your cam.Go roller and dont worry about wiping lobes.

Just my $.02

I did consider roller, but I couldn't find one for $.02.
Seriously, rollers have a decided advantage-got one on my other car.:D Still a possibility. Se la vi:eek:
