Hello

I bought a vaccum hand pump. checked the lines on the vaccum block and with the fuel pressure reg. vaccum line and the boost /vaccum line checking okay I plugged the others and with the car at idle I get about 131 on blm. I hook the pvc line in and 150 on blm. Also the vaccum line that goes to the round ball under the drivers side front fender does not hold anything. Can you just replace the ball or is this normal. I'm not sure about the pvc I will check it with a GM one. Monday. There also is a plastic line that is hooked with the EGR vaccum. It runs back to the passanger side fender then through into the dash it also does not test. Is this part of the a/c and heater vaccum system. Sorry for the long post. And any help would be appreciated. I hate high BLMs.

Make sure the PCV valve is an AC Delco PN CV893. The 131 BLM with PCV plugged means part of the problem is there, but the MAF sensor takes the air coming from the PCV into account, so blocking the PCV will always lower BLMs. The key is whether the number is still pegged. It should jump around between 118-138.

I tested my vac system and my ball barely held anything even though my cruise control works fine. Also, the hard plastic HVAC line held but then lost vac after a few seconds even though my heater/ AC work great. My BLM problem was not in my vac system so that leads me to believe those two readings were fine. HTH
