I found a 84 T-Type and the guy wants only $1500 for it. He says the car looks and runs good(Says someone adjusted the boost too high) but the deal seems to good to be true. It still is'nt going to hurt to drive down to see it so I was wondering what should I be looking for when I go look at it?

well like most cars you want to check the basics, lights, turn signals, radio, a/c etc. See if you can get a vin# before you go and run a carfax. Check the coolant, oil and tranny fluid and if possible remove the pipe from the turbo to the throttle body and check for play in the shaft or bent fins.

When he says that the boost was turned up to high did it result in any damage?

go to the link 1970gsx has posted.

to much boost can just blow a head gasket if your lucky or bend a rod if your not lucky.

Well i checked carfax and there is no major issues with that, but the car did fail an emission test. I also found out that the 2004r was replaced with a th350. How much should these new finds sway me from buying car.

The 200r4 is a awesome transmission, but so is the th350. Only bad thing about the 350 is that the computer might not recognize it correctly to get best performance. And if someone adjusted the boost too high and it blew the head gasket, then all you really need to do it check them, maybe do a compression test, and a hard test drive.
