Question regarding equipment:

What is involved in going to a WB ?

(Parts, install, typical costs, etc)

The Jan. '03 GMHTP has an article stating the factory
02 sensors are only accurate at precisely 14:7 AFR, whereas
the WB is accurate to 3-4 points on either side of stoichometric...which no doubt saves HGs & motors, in addition to bringing the combo much closer to optimum efficiency.

Their system:

Accel DFI Gen 7 $1422.00
WB 02 option $951.00
Jumper Harness $738.00

Parts = $3111.00

I do thoroughly see the benefits & improvements of
such a system, but, I'm certain its expense will keep many from using it.

Is there any way to reap any of the benefits of a WB set-up
on a lesser budget?

TIA as always! :)

Go to WWW.DIY-WB.COM

For $160 you can put one together.
If you go for the fancy LED display you can still get out for under $200.

Be advised there are pirated versions available, and they are poorly designed copies of the American Version at the above website.

Anderson Motor Sports claims to have one for $550 that is assembled. The FJO one is also a non pirated version for closer to $700.
