I recently purchased some used Lucas 009's and a chip, but the chip is burned for a biger turbo than what I have on my car. How will the car act with that chip in it?? Will it run fine, or act up?

Will I end up having to get a new chip specific for my set up?

Thanks
Los

It will probably have more fuel than you need but you might give it a try since you have it already.

What size difference are you taling about on the turbos? Is this a TE-44 vs. a TE-60 or a stock vs. PT-70 issue? Just don't run as much boost and you'll prolly be OK (differential depends ont he turbo differential).

The turbo difference is I have a TE44, and if I remember correctly the chip is burned for a TE60.

So it will get more furl than a TE44 handle huh...damn it

Well, time to buy a chip! HA HA HA.

Who to contact? Any recommendations? Im assuming Red and Joe Lubrant are always good choices? Where do I get a hold of them? contact info?

Thanks
Los

Use the chip. Chips are typically tied to injectors (e.g. chip for 009's, 50's, 55's), not turbos.

Besides, the difference between a 44 and a 60 is small...

:D

And 009s are small enough that even a street chip for them will most likely be set to deliver all they fuel they can flow (at least at one point in the fuel curve; I'm not trying to start up that old static vs a real curve bushwa :-)).

As I referred to above, this is on the minimal difference side of things. The chip may have been custom programmed for an engine with a TE-60 but as the Seagle stated above, this chip will work fine with your 44.

It is more than likely that at WOT the motor will be running a tad richer than it was with the TE-60 assumiong everything else in the motor is the same.
