Car washes don't use them because of their potential dangers.

A quality auto detail shop will have one, most likely.

Truck (diesel) repair garages have them for cleaning motors & chassis.

And most larger car lots have them.

Call a few of these kinds of shops...the charge for cleaning an intake wouldn't be much.

HTH

i did mine by hand. bead blasting would work i would guess, dont know what steam cleaning is tho. check my website for before and afters...the difference is incredible.

Hi Dave, You can buy a budget priced pressure washer at Home Depot for under $150.00. I have done engine blocks and other misc. parts with mine. You might have to use some aircraft paint stripper to remove the factory coating but use Easy-Off on the oily side. The hot air manifolds are a little harder to do because water manages to find its way into the plenum. Plus after you wash your cars, the driveway and anything else that isn't bolted down, you can find another million uses for your pressure washer.

What did you use when you did your manifold by hand?

I had mine bead blasted, and Powder Coated 'almost Chrome'. It is also Ported and Polished on all of the runners as well as where the Turbo Enters.

It is for sale if anyone is interested in it!

I took my manifold for hot tank

Hello fellow hot air-er's , Well it's cold as heck out now here in the northeast, and horsepower is heading up!!

How are you Eric, Thanks for the Advice, Herb? how much are you asking for your intake?

I had my intake taken in by local CarQuest store, He sent it our for HOT tank, they also may check tru-ness of machined flat surfaces.

I had last intake done it IWIN, they did pretty good job, Herb ? , how much difference do think your manifold will make on ported iron heads?,25hp?

I had ported Heads on my car....keep in mind...Heads are an excellent HP provider, but why use the heads if you are 'bottlenecking' yourself with the tiny stock Intake ports? (They are friggin small, and have a rough cast on them)

I would like to get $200 out of the intake, but I am open to offers!

Did you take out egr?

HERB, when IWIN ported my hot air intake for my car in the signature, I had them make the flat divider hump into a pyrimid shape at the advice of Scott North who ran 13.61 with his 84 hot air riviera',
both of my turbo buicks are 85 Riviera's
the one in the sig is a coupe and the other one is convertible,
the riviera is pig heavy , and will never be as fast at the G-body, but alot of fun.
TRIV is working on a intercooled 87 set up for the riviera chassis and is collecting parts for the conversion.
MY all time favorate buick is the 83 twin turbo 4.1 state Riviera convertible, I almost would give my left arm for that car, Rather have that than a low mile GNX.
Reallity check says it ain't never going to happen when they only made two.
