I have a 87 regal T and i'm getting a code 22 low tps on my direct scan. service engine light comes on and car goes in and out of limp mode. TPS voltage is fine at WOT and idle. Voltage fluctuation is also good. I replaced the TPS and 02 just for grins. I'm still getting a code 22 constantly and the serv engine light goes on and off. I have reset the computer with the orange wire.
Can anyone help. I have run out of ideas.
The car also when out of limp mode builds boost. I currently have the pitbull chip in it.

Thanks:confused:

Excuse me for saying so, but telling us that TPS voltages are good at WOT and Idle, doesn't really mean much without quoting actual values.

Did you check out youre ecm plugs for contamination??
What about the one that has the chip in it.

Are you running direct scan???If so do you have a shielded cable??

Sorry about that, its .47 at idle and 4.74 at WOT.
Thanks for replying

One problem. Your idle tps is WRONG. Too high!!!
.46 is absolute maximum, anything over that and the ecm can't "set" it's idle value.

The best value to have the idle tps set for is .40 (key on, engine off), this will yield about a .42 with the engine running.

We checked for corrosion and found nothing. Not sure what you mean by sheilding. I am using the direct scan and the ribbon cable that was supplied with the direct scan.
Thanks

Wrap the ribbon cable from the ecm plug up to the direct scan box with aluminum foil make sure that at the point you plug it in that some of the foil contacts the ecm cover.

Also if direct scan is plugged in to far it will set codes and make the car act wierd.Pull the plug out so it is only on halfway.

I bet you will have no more code 22 after that.

If it works then you can break off a toothpick and place it sidways in the direct scan plug at the ecm end so it will not go on too far and short out.

I know this all sounds a little silly but trust me it works.

sorry had to work this weekend, haven't tried anything out yet. I'll try it all. Thanks alot guys. Really appreciate it!
