Hi everyone this is my first post here!

Just bought a -86 and 2 days after the battery went dead when i started it, so the solenoid on the starter got stuck, so it ran until there was no power left in the battery. After that i get a Code 42 on the scanmaster, and i found some notes on a webpage (http://www.vortexbuicks-etc.com/code_42.htm)and followed it.

This is what i have in spare parts.
1x ECM
1x Ignition module (supposed to be broken)
2x chips

This is what i have done.
Checked the connection at the ECM module - ok

From the
http://www.vortexbuicks-etc.com/42t.jpg

2: 178Ohm - Yes
3: Used a volt meter - 12v
Disconnected the ignition modul - 0v

And it says the Ignition module is broken, is it another way to check if the module is broken?
Is the C3I=Ignition module?

C3I is the ignition module. I think the best way to test it is to find a known good module, put it on you car and see if it fixes your problem. Maybe somebody local can help - where are you located? When I had a code 42 it turned out to be the ignition module. If you need a new module I suggest you spend the extra money and get a GM module.

Ok, then i know that :)

Live in Sweden so think theres like 4cars over here, so it can be hard to find one here.

Is the GM modules better or?

Anyone got a suggestion where i can buy a new module? In Europe or in the US.
