hey guys weres the best place to get a strong coil pack one more powerful than stock also i think i need one because if im driving down the street at a steady 1500-1800 RPM i can hear a studer in the exhuast note any advice will be great guys thanks

my buddy has a newer coil set up, "stage 2" off a newer gm vehicle, 90's? i'm sure somebody will que in on this, they are three seperate coils, so if one goes bad, you can replace that individual pack, i'll be investing soon on one.and buy it at GM> :D

Type II not stage II They work pretty good not as well as type I (stock) in my opinion. but then again what do i know my car only runs 138 mph in 1/4.

I've been using a ESP (EASTERN PEFORMANCE) coil pack since 1996 and I have never had a problem with it yet, works great for me.

thanks turbov6 are you running one and whats the price

It's not likely that a coil pack problem would cause any engine issues at 1500 to 1800 rpm. The stock ignition is good at least past 5,500, and probably past 6,000. Ignition problems will most likely show up at high rpm, or under high boost, not at cruise. Do you have a scan tool? If not, that would be a better investment than a "high performance" coil pack. If you do, what is the scan tool showing when you get the engine stutter.

Try 7000 RPM at 9.60 with the stock Delco coil pack and module, and NO MSD box. :)

Yes I have it. And I think someone posted the price. This coil pack is better than stock.

im just trying to figure out why this thing is stuttering while going down the road sometimes itll be a real nice drone then all of asudden itll miss its pissing me off bad

If you have a ScanMaster, punch the left button to step through all the functions whenever you get the miss. It might show a bad MAF, or that the O2s are off, or something else not right. Or maybe not. I have a miss when the engine is cold- has to be lower the 40 degrees F- and it goes away when the engine- or the weather- gets warm. But my ScanMaster hasn't showed me anything that helps. Try yours, so what it shows.

oh i forgot to tell you guys i dont have a maft anymore
