Cometics reusable?

Can I reuse my cometic head gaskets? They were only removed so I could have the shortblock freshened. Heads were milled right before these gaskets were put on and only ran approx 2 months. They look good and I know which head they came off of and which side was up so they'd be put back on the same way.

From what I've heard, yes you can. I've never done it myself though.

Ive cleaned mine and reused them before,I apply a new coat of spray copper first,Cometic also sells the outside gaskets and you can resuse the center shim

I have reused mine 3 times without any problems.

Cometic tells you that before you buy the HGs but when you go back to them trying to buy the outside skins after owning the HGs, they have a little differnet story.


I have re-used them once and like Otto said (did I just say that?) just spray a little copper coat on them before 2nd install.
