Yup, I washed it yesterday and had it parked up in my driveway(my driveway wraps around behind the garage and is not visible from the street) and someone who obviously had no clue how to jimmy a lock tried to break in...

They only dented part of the window molding and ripped the weather stripping...

So IM going to sell this car... I am so sick of the rediculous amount of attention it gets. I have also come to realize that the market value for GN's in the texas/louisiana area has fallen by about 2,000$ since I bought the car. Im pretty much out of $4,000. Cars in the similar condition mine is in were going for 11-13K and now it seems like 10K is all Im going to get. Thats what I paid, but it was for car with a busted radiator and other problems that are all now cured.

Seems like you're having problems with the car and you're getting frustrated.

You've talked about selling it so much, then go ahead and do it.

Seems like you've made your mind up and wanna get rid of it, then do it.

just sell it and move on ... you can allways buy another a few years down the road

2 sides to every coin. I'm just as mad every time I go out to the garage and some new probablem magically arises on a car that just sits in the garage, but it happens. It's the trade off for having an older, rare car. There are postives and negatives to being an owner.

But if you're that fed up, get rid of it.

It depends how much you really like your car and what shape it's in.
You have to decide if you really want this car. Like other people said, a 20 year old car requires patience, time, hard work , money and sometimes you just have to forget about the car for a while and then come back to it refreshed-- that's if your passion for your GN is there!

As far as attention, try to have the car covered in the garage, don't turn into your driveway if people are behind you, install cut-off switches and antitheft devices such as lojack, gps, alarm etc.

The choice is yours. just take some time to think it over before you might get rid of a good car that will increase in value over time.

There was times I got upset with my car. I had a string of bad things happen, (tranny went out, same day of replacing the tranny someone attempted to steal it and EFFED the car up really bad, The body shop effed up my paint job and a bunch of stuff--REALLY long story, and then i had to fight the shop with the BAR to get money for all the stuff the shop messed up, Then after not driving it for about 6 months the second day im driving it around the Maf goes out) I was fed up and bound and determined to sell it.

But I could never bring myself to doing it. I love her too much. Thats right, shes a her.;)

I'm not trying make you keep it but, that's why we all need to have full coverage insurance. People steal nice stuff, and even not so nice stuff. Part of life in my opinion. I just feel if you want to come back to being a turbo regal owner later it's going to cost you even more. Now that would suck.

Grand Nationals are either in your blood or they are not. My neighbors do not understand my addiction to these cars but then again I do not understand their addiction to bigger and better barbeque smokers. These cars are now 20 years old and you have to understand that they are going to need TLC and it will come at a price, time and money. If you do not sincerely enjoy being an owner and you are not constantly looking for your next upgrade then you are right, it is time to sell. As for the value, what is it worth to you? As for me I would not sell at any price and that is because I throughly enjoy the car. I look forward to meeting corvettes and mustangs every time I hit the streets and feel like a little kid when they pull up along side and the GN proceeds to blow their doors off.

Im just thinking this car isnt in my blood... I work as a part time monster truck mechanic... flying trucks have been my real passion since I was very little... If I sell the car Im buying a brand new little toyota pickup to haul my crap around. Going fast is in my blood but getting air just does not compare....

I have full coverage, but this is my daily driver! I dont have another car. One of my motorcycles is street legal if the car breaks down, but I NEED a car with Houston's weather... I just cannot stand to put miles on it and right now Im averaging 1k miles a month between car meets and daily driving.

Also Im getting pissed off at the people who claim a 109k mile car is High mileage when almost every moving part has been replaced in the last 10k miles and it's 20 years old... that's 6k miles a year...

Oh well, life goes on. This car was a learning tool, not a mistake... spending 4k extra on it was the mistake!

Hey man, i've spent 7-8k or more on my car so far. I paid 10,300 for mine and I'm not ready to sell it. **** man, im having problems with getting detonation at 5 psi. Now that sucks! The most part was intercooler and trans.

I've had my car for 8 months so far, and 3 of them months i didnt drive because of weather and trans blown up. I may just have to replace my injectors because they may be taking a crap on me, or the MAF.

Mines my DD also, so dont think i dont feel your pain of driving it everyday.

I cant get my knock down, but i still drive it proudly and dont wanna sell the car. Now sometimes i get so pissed off at it, i have said it, but hell no i dont want to.

So you've replaced the cam, valve springs, speedo cable, pushrods, converter, pinion gear, crank shaft and injectors?? I mean you say ''almost every moving part has been replaced in the last 10k miles.'' You do mean everything?

Tell you the truth Adam, from one Adam to another. I'm getting sick and tired of your threads about how you wanna get rid of your car, you don't wanna have it, since every thing's going bad, then GET RID OF IT!!!

Yeah you should just sell the car. Also you are not going to get 10k out of it either. High miles, a non clean carfax, the dents that got kicked in it( i think i read on one of your posts). also with the car being broke into and filing it on insurance then its gonna be on the carfax. Dont you also need the tranny rebuilt? becuase you wanted to put a shift kit in to fix it? Anybody who pays 10k for it is an moron

The way I look at it is this...

Do you still love the car? Regardless of people f#ing with it and trying to steel it, do you still love it?

If so, keep it and put a good alarm on it. They have ones that page a little keyfob you carry on your keychain.. alarm goes off, it alerts YOU on your keychain. Some work as far as a mile away. Then if it goes off... you go out there with a baseball bat! LOL! And get full coverage too.

If you dont absolutley love the car, toss it on ebay with a reserve and see what happens... I have seen them go for some pretty crazy money lately even if you do have a few things going against you.

Either way, good luck man.

Sell the GN amd buy a T-type, Plain and simple..

Damn, that is a really really good idea. Everybody tries to steal GNs
You could get a T-type and take the badges off... look just like a regular regal!

i think you should just get rid of it. you ship it to me in michigan. when it gets here i will send you a personal check for $500.00. i have no idea why someone would want to get rid of one of these cars because someone dented some trim and messed up a weatherseal. when i do get one the wife will go before the car does.
