I never found something to be so true..but a GN/TTYPE is a really love hate relationship. Its so hard to get rid of it because you love it when it runs well but you hate it when it runs like crap (85% of the time)

90 percent of hot rodders hav e been there. If you are that fed up get rid of it. Ive had the car for 2yrs (also a dd) and i have only driven the dam thing for about 8 months. im in a complete rebuild and im going back to stock and I wouldnt trade for anything. ive come so close to selling it but i kno at the end of the day i could never do it. Whenever i get in to start the car a smile comes across my face. let me ask you this.. When the car was running right did you want to sell it? if not hen your just looking for a quick answer to a couple of problems. say you get that new Toyota you dont think you will miss that power?? just food for thought and if you do want to sell it ill give you 1000 cash and anothe 800 for shipping... lol

Yeah you should just sell the car. Also you are not going to get 10k out of it either. High miles, a non clean carfax, the dents that got kicked in it( i think i read on one of your posts). also with the car being broke into and filing it on insurance then its gonna be on the carfax. Dont you also need the tranny rebuilt? becuase you wanted to put a shift kit in to fix it? Anybody who pays 10k for it is an moron

When a Potential Owner does a COMPLETE SEARCH of all your posts, as ALL folks DO nowadays, you'll be LUCKY to get 5k for it...IF THAT!!

Hey man, i've spent 7-8k or more on my car so far. I paid 10,300 for mine and I'm not ready to sell it. **** man, im having problems with getting detonation at 5 psi. Now that sucks! The most part was intercooler and trans.

I've had my car for 8 months so far, and 3 of them months i didnt drive because of weather and trans blown up. I may just have to replace my injectors because they may be taking a crap on me, or the MAF.

Mines my DD also, so dont think i dont feel your pain of driving it everyday.

I cant get my knock down, but i still drive it proudly and dont wanna sell the car. Now sometimes i get so pissed off at it, i have said it, but hell no i dont want to.

So you've replaced the cam, valve springs, speedo cable, pushrods, converter, pinion gear, crank shaft and injectors?? I mean you say ''almost every moving part has been replaced in the last 10k miles.'' You do mean everything?

Tell you the truth Adam, from one Adam to another. I'm getting sick and tired of your threads about how you wanna get rid of your car, you don't wanna have it, since every thing's going bad, then GET RID OF IT!!!

Yup EVERYTHING in the engine is 10k miles old except for the block and heads... Rear end is newly rebuilt, drive shaft is new, all bearings new, all bushings new... the previous owner did a hell of a lot of work on this car. The transmission isnt a new rebuild, but it was freshened up and checked when the engine was done... The car is in the body shop right now getting a dent fixed from where some punk ass kicked it in(I was in a completely different city and someone just kicked it). If I could bite my tongue and cut my losses I would sell the car today if someone would buy it... I have put adds out and only gotten two responses... my next step is to just hang a for sale sign on it and hit all of the major car places on friday and saturday night...

I am actively trying to sell it... It's not that I have anything against the car, It's been great and done everything I wanted it to do. It just is not the way I want to spend my money any more...

Is it me or does most of the people who talk about selling their GN/T-type use it as a primary source of transperation? You have to keep in mind you're dealing with a 20 year old car...a Hot Rod of top of it. I really think one should have a second vehicle that they can drive in any season. It doesn't have to be a brand new car, just some beater to drive in bad weather or when there is down time on the Buick.

Also that idea on a T-ype os nice. I'm still explaining to people my car came stock with eth GN drain train.

definitely right about that. Yes my car is a total "crap" in progress, but I would never use it for a daily driver even if it was completely finished. I've spent double on it and I still don't have it right. Took it out twice and needless to say everyone let me go first. Must have been cause there was no hood and could see what lied within! I have a 1990 grand am with a 4cyl auto gets almost 30 mpg on the highway and has never failed me. A couple months ago I was going to buy a different car, a real nice daytona turbo. I left my grand am parked in front of the garage in the back alley. Whadya know someone hit the thing! SInce that happened I decided I will never have an expensive daily driver. Had a 3rd gen z28 tpi car and anyone that has had one knows they are like TRs, either they run or they don't, You get a good one or you get a bad one. Well I had a bad one. I sunk over 5 grand in this car and it still looked the same when I sold it. THe car sat 2/3 of the time I owned it, I'm not lying either. I would have never gotten rid of it but I couldn't stop thinking about how dumb it was I sold my 79 tr to put more money into that. ADAM, If you want a truck to haul stuff in for cheap go pick up a s10 2wd or something. You could haul parts for the GN, get good gas mileage, reliability, and its a GM product!:biggrin:

I used to drive 60-70's Chevy trucks. I desided for the first time I would get something new and thus the Harley truck. This thing is sweet looking and quick. I had so many scratched after a few years that I had them fixed. It wasn't two days after I got it out of the shop that someone dinged a door real bad. It's been about 4 months since the shop fixed those scratches and the truck looks 5 times worse. My next truck is going to be some 80-90's typical Chevy/Ford. Oh and it want be black!

GN's and T-types are hobby cars. not transportation cars. Buy an Escort and keep the GN. Just let it sit in the garage and polish it, then you'll be glad you kept it! Once you take it out on a nice summer day and everybody's staring at it, you'll be pumped!! You obiously had an interest prior to buying it otherwise you wouldnt be on this board and would have never bought an expensive old black Regal! -----Jeremy
