I drove my gn for about 3 miles took it home parked it. temp wat at 180.

As I walked away I saw coolent running onto the ground. Enough to scare the crap out of me. It looked like it was coming from right behind a bolt on the water pump area. Cleaned the inside of the car off from coolent and water overflow tank was an inch below add. I then drove it two more times hard driving spooling up all to 14 about 6 times between the two. Nothing!!! no coolent anywhere after the two. What gives? fluke accident? Ill be checking my coolent level and the ground wherever I go. Anyone ever have this situation before?

Thanks

Check the S hose (water bypass) on top of the water pump. Were you getting it inside the car??

I had it happend to my Cutlass when the water pump impeller seal went bad. It would leak out of the little hole in the pump body.

When I stopped it depended on where the impeller was as to whether it would leak or not.

While driving it tossed the coolant everywhere so it was hared to tell exactly where it was leaking from.

I let it idle in the drive for a while and watched....

no nothing was getting inside the car.

I did let it idle for about 10 minutes and still nothing, I also gave it some good hard revs and nothing.

I will check all the hoses.

thanks

You could clean the engine well and add some leak detector. It shows up pretty well a UV light. I found a dumb hose leak with it on my old T/A. Showed a pretty lime green streak running down the front of the block to the oil pan.

I drove 16 miles today and no coolant anywhere, wtf?

I am just going to laeve it and check it every other minute for a while and see what happens.

Thanks everyone

change the water pump anyway.. Its a good chance its cooked and will spew out at the wortst time when you have it somewhere..

FWIW & IMHO:
I second FlyinGN's suggestion regarding changing the water pump regardless. It's definitely going to catch you when you least want it to.
