2 nights ago I put on my new slicks and went out on an open road trying to get a feel for them on the launch. I could build boost just fine and real quick no hesitation. I was able to hold 12 lbs and let it go and just flat out hook. Now this got me pretty exited about going to the track the next day knowing that launching like that possibly better if the track is prepped well would get my 11 second pass I want so bad.

When I make it to the track and get through the water box and start to burnout, it simply wont turn the tires. It would build to 2,200 rpm but I could not get any boost at all. So I roll up to the line thinking "ok that was a fluke it will build boost for the launch".

Nope it didn't not 1 lb. I sat there for at least 15-20 second trying before i got the secon stage light and nothing. I sat there another 5 seconds after the other car left and tryed but still nothing.

This happened everytime out of my 5 runs for the night.
All the 60' were 2.3's and one 2.1 .

The only good thing about that whole night was that it went a best of 12.85 only at 109 though.

After I left the track the car built boost like nothing was wrong:confused:

Does my car just hate the track? What could it be? I can't figure it out since it worked just fine before and after the track.

Thanks for any help you can give me.:)

i've had a problem like that a few times before, i wanted to burn some rubber but just couldnt do it. i don't know if it was a coincidence or what but the hotter it is the worse my car runs. i've been to where i can't build up any boost too. I blamed it on the hot air, but i don't know if that really had anythign to do with it. i was thinking it might be something with the waste gate, but i dont' know.

Was the car warmed up and running in closed loop? Open loop will make the car run too rich and have a hard time building boost.

mine was running at about 160-165 degrese. and what is open and closed loop?

I had that problem once. It was the first, and only, time I took my car to the track. It wouldn't build more than 3 psi on the launch. After launching it would only go to 5 psi and stay there until halfway through 2nd gear. I never did figure out the problem, but that same night it started blowing fusible links and the O2 sensor died. Couldn't get better than a mid 14 all night. My worst was a high 15. Very embarrassing.

It was well into closed loop. My o2 sensor died on the ride home but was fine during the time I was at the track. Like I said after I left the track and the code had shown for the o2 it would still build boost just fine on the street.

I guess the car just hates the track. Everytime it goes there it does not run right. Maybe the car gets stage fright?
