Is it 10 degrees?
In a perfect world yes,But the crank offset should be checked when a fast system is installed to be sure its 10* ive seen them as far off as 13* and as low as 6*.
In turn if it is not set to your balancer you timing is not correct

Would one be using a timing light for this? Look at timing in the ECU vs./ balancer?

yes,Your balancer must read exactly the same as what your timing table is set at.So if you set the table at 30* at say 2000 and hold it at 2000(make sure the bubble is in a 30* box and surrounded by 30* boxes also to be safe, and your balancer should read 30*,if not you must adjust the CRA till it matches, youm ay need to add to the 10 or subtract from it to get it exact
Did you install the F.A.S.T sytem?

no.
Car idled OK for a while. Maybe the hotter weather was affecting it. I now have a better understanding of how things affect the idle with the FAST. I think i got it now.

I will shoot a timing light at it soon to verify.

Thanks

Definetly check it,It should be good. Most installers know to do this.
