Damn idiot light!!

OK the stupid service engine soon light is on all the time. dont know why , last sunday waxed and did a few things to the car and drove it afterwards and everything was fine, a week later of the car just sitting in the garage not even being started i get the service engine soon light on, its weird the car just starts idles fine runs like a champ but that light is on and i also noticed the fan is staying on all the time now too, i have checked everything and everything is the way it is supposed to be. very weird that the car was sitting for a week and then all of a sudden this happens. anybody have any ideas on what this could be or maybe what could of happend in the week is was just sitting in the garage?

Some auto parts stores will scan it for you free.
Call around.
Once you have a code then you can start to trace down what it may be. Without a code you are chasing your tail.

A constant Check Engine Light usually comes on because of a blown ECM fuse. Check this fuse first, and then all other fuses if it is OK.

BTW, with a blown fuse, the computer will not show codes when you ground the test terminal.

Yea but then why would my fan be on all the time now? and the temp only reads 165? and the relay is brand new and shuts off when the car is off.

Ya my fan started to come on all the time too, I didnt bother with it much cause im not too electrically inclined. Runs fine with it on low speed anyway, doesnt matter to me much.

Yeah but the fact of it being on when it shouldn't be on is bothering me and that damn light , iam just gonna get a diagnostics done to see the error codes cause iam getting so annoyed.
