Dead Batter issue.. Please help

I just got my car going again after sitting for 4 months. I took it ou and drive it for 200 miles the it dies. The battery is dead and has to be charged. The car would only run long enough to run what juice was left in the batttery then die. So I buy a new battery and put another 200 miles on it and today the car dies and I have to have it jump started. It would run long enough to run was juice was put into the batter by jumping then die. So today I buy a new alternator and install it. Same issue as above... Please Help
 
make sure ALL your connections are tight and put a VOM on the field terminal of the alt and ground to good ground and make sure the alt is putting out at least 12.5 volts.
 
You should not install and crank a new alternator on a dead battery

With the battery fully charged, you should see 13.8V to 14.2V, if it's 12.5 or less, it's not charging properly. Be sure to check the fuse too.
 
The field excite voltage goes through the alternator light in the dash. That light must light when you turn the key to on (during the light test proceedure). Turn the key to on without turning it to the start position to check the lights.
 
Do you have a Casper's volt booster? If so, make sure the gray connector is tight. Zip tie it...

might check various electircal connections to see if something is draining it see how many amps are being drawn with all systems off

i found that my fan relay was leaking voltage killed my battery after about 10 minutes of the car being stopped
 
Do the simplest checks first.

1. Is the positive terminal [red wire, loop connector] on the back of the alternator hooked up, and reasonably tight?

2. The charging cable runs DIRECTLY from the alternator post to the positive terminal of the battery. Do a quick Resistance [Ohm] check between the positive terminal of the battery, and the alternator post. You should read very near 0 Ohms between these points. If not, you've got a problem.

The alternator itself likely wasn't the problem. The car wouldn't have run 200 miles twice on just the battery.
