Diff cover questions

Three questions about the rear diff cover:

1) is there any particular brand of gasket or just get any old one from the corner car place?

2) my cover is black. Were they black from the factory or silver? Mine might be painted along with the gas tank.

3) anyone have pictures of their rear end? Silver colored cover...that is.......

Actually black rtv silicone works better than a gasket on the rearend cover.I believe the rearend cover is supposed to be black.Mine looked black before I repainted them black.Now I no longer have the stock rearend cover on either car.
