I remember reading that there was a difference between hot air and intercooled ARP head studs.

I have a set I believe I pulled off of a hot air motor..... and want to use them on my intercooled '87 race motor.

For some reason I remember them not being universal.

Any help would be great. I'm bolting on FP1007 headgaskets and PTE ported cast iron 8445 heads on a 109 block.

Thanks in advance,

-Mark

86/87 bolts are longer, and thread into block deeper due to threads being machined in block deeper.

I tried to use 86 bolts on my hotair motor, didn't work.

I would be afraid to got the other way and not have enough thread engangement as you are wanting to do. Not worth the $30 in bolts, IMO>
