hey im just wondering what the diffence between the two are.
also with the turbo at what rpm does it spool up. what size turboes are used. also how do the exhaust manifolds work on these engines.
could they be adapted to a australian v6

The engines used over there, If I'm not mistaken are basically the Gen II or Gen III 3800's.

That being the case there's absolutely NO similarity between them and the turbo 3.8. Except that they all have the same number of cylinders. ;)

Turbo's Unlike superchargers are not rpm specific, but rather load specific. All it takes is a load to get a turbo to start doing "it's thing".
The quicker the load can be applied (looser converter) the quicker the spool-up. But in stock trim, there's really no lag to speak of. It's almost instaneous.

Hehe, nice to see someone else from Australia.

Ok, our (Aussie) V6 is slightly different depending on what version your looking at.

Our VN-VR are the Series 1 v6's. BUT from VN Series 2 models to the VR models we have the single peice rear main seal, which I'm informed is something the American's never got until the Series 2 V6s came out.

Once you get to the VS and onwards, our (Aussie) V6 is the Series 2 V6. We just commonly call them the 'ECOTEC'. They have the lower deck height almost other things.

That make sence?

P.S. Your from SC forums?
