Dirct Scan 1.52 not working

Just hooked it up, the time and date on the right freezes, the real time mode does not work. any one have any help in this arena.

Xp on an Hp I'll check the connector again tomorrow, a couple of times it said did not find hardware. I changed the Bios lpt-1 setting to normal.

Won't work with XP. Have to use a boot disk. Do a search for XP and Direct Scan and you will find details.

Like Sully mentioned. You will have to partition your hard drive, and create a boot up disk from Win 95/98. XP is greedy, and grabs the serial port @ boot up, so you need to boot up in DOS. Also, is very, very important that the connection to the ECM service port is absolutely 100% free from any, and all factory sealer. Brian H.

xp and direct scan cannot find!

Seems like XP and Direct Scan search comes up with nothing. Anyone have any links to set this up on XP?

OK.. XP will not let dos programs control hardware devices. (Like i/o ports) So you have to run something other than XP. You can create a boot disk and copy DS to it and boot & run it off of floppy. If your drive isn't formated with NTFS then you could boot off of floppy and run it from C: otherwise you will ahve to run from floppy.

Or buy a 50.00 laptop off ebay and dedicate it to the DS.That's what I did so if something should happen I don't lose the good laptop too.
