I'm just brainstorming aloud, as I already have my "package" bought and paid for.

So does anyone actually sell items in a clear and concise package deal? If they don't, I would think they should. Considering the insane amount of repetitive questions concerning our cars, I think package deals would sell like hotcakes to newbs and moderates alike. You market proven Foundation, 12 second, 11 second, etc.. and discount it just enough to sweeten the deal. Even if they don't decide to purchase them all at once, they will probably stare at the recipe's long enough to buy them one by one before it is said and done.

Foundation

Market it as they are, just in one package, fixing dated technology and marginally adequate as stock.

-Adj. Fuel Regulator
-Hotwire
-340 Warlboro
-breather bypass
-K&N filter
**Scanmaster (optional; although should be a first purchase item)
**160* thermostat

Assume stock turbo
~$400-500.00 without scanmaster

12 second package

 Hell, I think the above mentioned would cut 13's so I'll bypass that one.

-All of the above plus:
-Chip
-Downpipe
-Exhaust, don't know how many still have a factory exhaust but I doubt it's too many, possibly make the exhaust have several options in a scroll down menu.
**Injectors, this where I can start seeing why people don't do this. :D So many damn variables to choose from, but I digress. You are marketing a known reliable recipe, so choose 42.5's or have another scroll down menu with more options and explanations of when they hit the bell curve.

Assume stock turbo
~$1090-$1,300.00 plus cost of Foundation package for approx. total of ~$1,440-1,700.00

11 second package

**I am not there yet, and have already probably messed up my previous packages. But I merely trying to give you an idea of what I am talking about. I imagine this one would be a foundation plus a few of the 12 second package with an added turbo upgrade, alcohol, different chip, etc...

Well, I am just throwing that out there, and with my post history I am sure someone probably already does this and I am just reinventing the wheel. :D

That made sense 10 years ago. (ATR sold thousands)

Now a days anyone still running a stock fuel pump and doesn't have a K&N filter is

Lots of cars have them, no doubt, but there is also a lot of new owners that probably don't know they have them. :D

While these cars aren't the sleepers they once were, there is plenty of misinformation and naivity still out there concerning them, it can still be cashed in on them.

While we are on the subject of ATR, why did they go out of business? Did Quality Control end up being their demise?

The beauty about buying one piece at a time is you can see what value or lack of value each piece you bolt on has on your car.

Most of the 12 second bolt ons are common sense replacement parts that should have been swapped out back in the 1990's, even on low mileage "stock" examples.

ATR's "packages" became dated by the late 90's. There were better parts, chips, advice, etc, available from other vendors for less.

When I used to go to the track a lot, guys would show up with $3K worth of "proven bolt-ons" and the car would run like crap and the owner disappointed, because his mods "guaranteed" him 11's.

Though it is very easy to run fast in a TR, there is still no substitute for tuning, including (and especially) bolt-ons.

Considering most Buick guys will buy elsewhere to save $5.00, whats the use? You go to the trouble of putting together a package and people will just price shop the stuff elsewhere, buy it in pieces and laugh about the $20.00 they saved while calling the original vendor that put the package together for tech support.

A-fu(king-men.

And you guys wonder why the vendors die out or jump onto other makes and models.......

you hit the nail on the head  plus I have had people copy Melissa's old mid 11 set up she ran for years ... none of them caught her .. maybe tuning has a little to do with it to
