It just pulls out. You don't have to remove anything. Just pull on it, give it slight twist and pull it the rest of the way out.

I got the stalk (cruise, wiper, wash) out. I need to know the reverse. How to get the new wire fed through the column and connection made to the turn signal lever.

Oh, sorry I thought you couldn't get it out. I just put a new cruise stalk on myself about a month ago. I took the black plate that locks the steering wheel off and snaked a straightened coat hanger wire down the bottom of the column. I then taped the wires to the end of the coat hanger securely, and pulled it through from the bottom. Hope that helps.

I've done them on both of my cars and I didn't remove anything.I took a stiff wire, very small diameter and fed it down through the hole where the stalk goes and after a few tries it finally came out the bottom of the column.I then taped the wires for the new stalk to the wire I fed down through the column and pulled it down through until the wires came out the bottom.Nothing to it.

I wasn't as lucky

I did get it in finally. After about five tries I got pretty good with getting the coat hanger through to the bottom. Getting the wire through was a different story. I tried tape twice and ended up just pulling the hanger out. Then I looped the connector with the hanger and tape. It was going to pull the connector off or come out the bottom:) I had to pull like hell but finally got it through. Connected and working just fine!:D

What a waste of 2 1/2 hours:rolleyes:

Guys I am installing the same thing, but it looks as if my stalk only has one wire with a flat connector. Is this correct? Im not sure how I am understanding how the wire is removed and reinstalled. Where exactly is the wire routed that I need to get to???

The wire runs inside the column and then exit along the column just above the lower ac vent

If I remember correctly, the connector has a tiny hole in it. You need to tie a piece of fishing line to it before you pull the old one out and then tie it to the new one and fish it through that way, much easier.

SIMPLE!Since you have a Brand NEW stalk and the OLD one is useless anyway,What I did was I cut the wires off the old stalk,Removed the old stalk then I just had wires sticking out of the column.I attached my New stalk wire to the cut end with some black tape.Pull the dang thing through the bottom by pulling on the old wire underneath. The hardest part is getting the tape clump through the first few inches then it goes easily!Nothing to take apart and it took me less than 10 mins from start to finish!Good luck!:)

I am attempting to do this now. I will be tieing a sting to the old one as I pull it out so that I can pull it back through once the new one is installed. However, I can't seem to locate where the wire is hooked up underneath the dash. What does it plug in to? I tried to follow the wire but it's impossible.

First, pull the stalk out, then tug the wire lightly and keep an eye underneath, youll see it moving.

It plugs up on the passenger side of the column. Its under there a bit. Did you take off the big plastic cover above the brake/gas pedals? You need to do that, then take a flashlight and look at the wires below the column as you tug. Theres no reason you shouldnt see anything when you push and tug on the wire because its right there.
