Does anyone know if this is true compared to pump gas. It seems I can tell a differance. Just wandering

The higher the octane, the slower the burn rate. But, by the time the gas has reached the turbine, its already a hot, spent gas with little energy left (if the engine is doing its job). Now its just a matter of the heat/pressure spinning the turbine. Im sure EGT's vary a bit from pump gas to race gas, but to what degree, I have no idea.

Yes... you need to adjust boost and fuel pressure according to whatever tuning tool you use IE..02Millivolts or wideband #'s. Justing adding high octane wont do a thing unless you tune the car with it.

Higher octane fuel will run the car a little fater all around. I see it all the time on my Turbo Talon, the scanmaster will lean out the days I run 93 and fatten up in all the trims when I have the 50/50 with 110 unleaded.

Very possible you were on the edge of running fat already down low and now you are over the edge with the race gas, check it out.

If anything the higher octanne gas will have a positive impact on the spool rate for a given timing number. More energy is put in the exhaust with the slower burn rate.
