I have a 87 GN and I am having some issues with my door locks. The door locks go up and down fine with the knob (manualy) and from the key out side the car, But if I hit the door lock button they dont move for enough to lock or unlock the door. I took the door panel off and the lock motor is moving good. Any Idias??

Something is binding or worn or the motor needs cleaning and lubing or replacing.

As long as the knob feels free from lock to unlock, compare it to the other side, it sounds like a worn out motor. Most of the time the boot wears out causing water to get inside them.

Clean and lubricate all the hinge points for the actuators, including the door handle pivot points and over by the latch itself. WD40 works good for starters but then use some white lithium grease at each point spray or by hand.

After that try to activate them with the car running too, higher voltage usually kicks them in a bit better. Operate them a few times too.

If they work better but not perfectly car off, check the battery and door lock voltages with the car off if you still have problems.

A good new fully charged battery worked for me as a solution, as opposed to my old bad cell 11 volt one which is what the voltage read when I shut my car off. :(
