Dropping Engine in... questions and need some pics..

I will be dropping my GN engine and trans into the Monte next week or the week after at the latest... :biggrin:

my question is: Can I bolt up the engine to the trans BEFORE i drop it in?
I know you can do it with a SBC, and thats the way I pulled it out, so I dont see it being a problem, but you never know I guess.

Also, Anybody have or can take a picture of the motor mounts and the frame? I want to see if I am missing anything or if the buicks have a slightly different setup that this monte. I need a good pic of right where the motor bolts to the frame.

You can drop it in either way; I find it easier to leave the trans in the car, and drop the engine in by itself.

If you drop both in at the same time, you may want to make sure the lifting eye on the engine isn't a cheasy stamped steel one.

Also, if you're doing both together, put a plug in the rear of the tranny or don't fill it with fluid unless you want to flush your garage floor with ATF..

And YES, I know about pouring ATF all over! I did it when I pulled this engine out... ooops, I knew I was forgetting something.... ahh well Oil dry and a pressure washer took care of that!

Hey, can someone tell me where I can get the motor mounts from? I have the ones that bolt to the engine block, but I need the ones that bolt to the frame.
