My brothers are into dsm's and have a bunch of stock injectors laying around. From what I have found they are somewhere in the 45 pph range. Don't know for sure...rated in cc's. Anyway, if they are 45's does anyone know if they would fit on our cars? And if they fit will they work? Thanks.

Hey thanks! So they are like 43pph...why couldn't our cars come with something like that :(

Because they were made in japan where they "think" they have fast cars that need a lot of fuel.

;)

Those DSMs and Nissans are the only ones that can keep up with TRs, but DSMs needa LOT of money to upgrade their suspention, etc.

You're crazy, there are a TON of imports that can do what TR's do.

Ton of money to upgrade their suspension? No - not really.

dsm injectors are 450 cc's, and are physically too short to work in the TR rail. trust me, I've tried ;)

The dsm injector is a 450cc stock

They dont need alot of money to upgrade the suspension tr's cost tons more and go alot less fast trust me ;)

Ya - but TR's don't break as much.

I have a 91 Talon TSi.

My friends Talon took over $10k to get into the low 11s, mostly because of transmission and suspention. Those cars can go "fast" easily because they weigh less.

If you want to relate TRs to DSMs go ahead, but they are a lot different. Noone sees a Talon and says "wow".

I'm not saying that Talons are negative or anything, i've seen a lot that are actaully pretty nice. It's all in how much money you have, and what kind of car you want to build.

First, the impedence on the DSM injectors are wrong. You would have to change the drivers in the computer to use them.

Correct on the CC's, 450, that is in the 5 speed turbocharged cars only though.

I build DSM's for a living and have built them for the last 15 years.
Believe me, they are no joke.

Suspension on the car stock works great. Not sure what the talk of upgrading it all is. The 92-99 AWD cars come with a super strong rear end and axles, along with a good trans.

An all wheel drive DSM can be put into the 12's for about $700, that is buying good quality parts and not just dropping the exhaust off the car.

Putting one into the 11's will take about $5,000 and this combination could take the car as fast as 10.90's depending on the driver and luck.

The engine in these cars are completely remarkable. I am running 7.8's at 175 with one in my tube chassis car and the block, head and crank are all stock.

The new Evolution 8 with the same basic engine is even more impressive. I have one that we have been developing parts on. The car has now gone 11.65 at 117.88 mph on the bone stock head, shortblock and turbocharger. Cost of mods to do this not counting the new clutch we put in it is $3995, that is our retail price. This car will outbreak a Z06 Vette and corners the same, cost of the car, $30,000. Seats four comfortably.

Along with what Dave and Philthmonger said, the injectors also would not fit the intake right. PTE had to machine down the new injectors and install a different o ring to get the Delphis to fit Mitsubishi's more narrow opening.

Import turbo cars have bigger injectors stock because 4 cylinders at 122 ci making 300 hp need way more fuel than 8 cylinders at 350ci making 325hp.

Buschur, my local DSM shop AMS is on your hinny with their street legal EVO 8. Last I heard, Martin put a bigger turbo and layed down over 550 to the wheel:eek:
He is selling it now and I do not think he went back to the track to top your 11.6. Your both hauling ass on stock cars!!

David Buschur on a GN board eh? nice to see you around. I've been hearing this guys name since 91 when I got my first dsm ;) I'd like to see what you could do to a TR :D

He used to race a turbo Regal...

Not sure if he still does or not.

I can't wait for the shootout. :D

Yep, AMS is making good progress with their EVO from what I am seeing. We are concentrating on doing the modifications to the car in very precise steps for the resale end of it all. We are by far the fastest with the stock turbo on the car, that is how we ran the 11.65 at 117.88 mph. Just finished the cylinder head for the car and have it on now. One small step at a time to make sure it all works before we release parts for sale.

I have a turbo Regal. A 1987 WE-4, bought it with a blown motor 2 years ago. Made 426 whp and 512 ft lbs at 19 psi on 94 octane. Car is gorgeous now, Ron at Rapid Automotive repainted it and most of the rest of the car has been detailed or had something done to it at this point. Has 37,000 miles on it. My dad has actually been messing with the TR's since 1986, he has three of them.

Still driving the Buick for Ron at Rapid too. Ran 7.58 at 175 with it last time we were at Bristol.

what a boner. EVERY dsm was made in Illinios. you know, the illinios here in America. D S M. Diamond Star Motors. it was a joint effort between Mitsubishi, Plymouth, Eagle.

BTW, with a car that runs mid 13s, i wouldnt be running my mouth off about who "thinks" their car is fast...

Dont be a troll DSM driver. You put the money into a TR that you put into a DSM(equal drivers and assuming good tune) and the DSM would get spanked by a few car lenght's.

And TR's weigh alot more and can seat 5 adults.Your car could fit 2 adults and 2 kids.

Like comparing apples and oranges.
