i will be going to the dyno on saturday and i was wondering what numbers to expect at 23-24psi? i dynoed 316hp and 456tq when i had the stock turbo.the only thing i have changed since then is a Ta-49, Boost Controller, LT-1 valve springs, JL 104 race chip(23*), all RJC Aluminum pulleys, and 50# injectors. so what kind of #'s are we talking here. temp will probably be around 90*. thanks

If you push it, 400 hp and 500 tq, but with just a 104 chip Ill say 375 and 475tq.

well, i guess i will shoot for 375hp and 475tq, i want to run 25psi of boost, is that ok for the 49 if i don't get any knock? i have been 23-24psi with no knock so i guess my question is if i turn it up to 25psi will it start to blow hot are and go downhill??? i'm going in the mornings so some quick answers are greatly appreciated.:)

Funny, I'm going to the dyno this Saturday as well. I have nearly identical combo as you. I'm going to be running pump gas and alky with the TA49 set at 24lbs of boost. I'm hoping for 400HP/500TQ. I think I'll hit the torque but be a little shy of the HP. We'll have to post our results and compare.

Should be fun.

I just went to the dyno a few weeks ago. 413 RWHP, 570 ft/lb TQ.

Geoff is that the same tune that got you the times in your sig??

I'm hoping to dyno my soon.

Jeremy - I drove to the track later that night. I did however, have to run a bit fatter (richer) at the track since my EGT showed that I was running lean. :)
The timeslip in my sig was from that night; -the only full pass that I made, and the last one of the night. I had another problem right before the 1/8 on a bunch of other aborted passes. Still unsure of the cause............

Needless to say that I was given a warning from the track official right after the last run.

Wow, makes me wonder what I put to the tires with my Ta49 trapping @ 117mph.

BTW - with the new NHRA rules - my track doesn't seem to care with me clicking off mutiple high 11's in a night.

well i got it Dynoed. it made 380Hp and 523Tq at 24psi and 23* of timing on 104 unleaded with 0 knock. i did not lock up the converter but i guess it was worth 20hp and 20-30tq i think but oh well, i'm happy with those numbers since it was 95* and 60%humidity:eek: you should have seen the look that one of the dyno guys made after my run:cool: maybe next time when i go when it's better weather, i will turn it up to 26-27psi and shoot for 580Tq:) thanks for the predictions. you guys were right on!

Similar results for me yesterday. 363HP/549TQ. Converter not locked-up and 92 pump gas w/ alky. And was while experiencing erratic ignition drop outs. My best numbers of the day started recording after my peak rpm.

I would like to see closer to 400HP and 575TQ but no complaints here either.

Maybe after fixing my ignition issues, I might take it back to the dyno to verify the problem is solved and get a few more pulls.

Great numbers guys. How much did it cost to dyno and how many runs did you make? I want to dyno mine soon. Since you guys came so close to guessing their combo numbers how about taking a stab at mine? I have a 14" K&N, TE-63-1, ESP f/m, power plate, SMC single nozzle alky, ported heads with bigger valves, .030 over with forged pistons, 206/206 Comp Cams, ATR 3" terry-style downpipe, 3" hi-flo cat, 3" single shot, Walbro 307, 009s and a 20 degree street chip and K-B hot flash chip. I have the usual stuff like adj. regulator, Scanmaster and K-B boost-a-pump to push more fuel. I'll push as much boost as the injectors can handle with the street chip but only around 18-20 with the hot flash chip. I'll be getting a Turbotweak chip soon but not sure if it will be here before getting dynoed. Any guesses? This won't be a track car, just my daily driver. I am just curious as to what kind of power it can have with a good tune.

I ran on a DynoJet. 3 pulls for $65. A great deal compared to the typical price of $75-$100. Some the other Turbo Buick guys that came out even ran up to 6 pulls trying to work out tuning issues and they still only charged them $65. Fortunate to have a cool dyno shop near us.:p
