What and who makes a good forged rod off center that compliments the new eagle crank. Im leaning toward the 6.500 long rods but open to suggestions. Parts are for a 9 sec stage one.

Chevy II,

I hate to tell you this but Off center narrow journal rods in any length are special order. It's possible to find a wide journal set of On center rods and machine them to fit the narrow journal width. Otherwise you'll be buying custom rods. Unless Eagle starts making rods for our application count on $1000+ for a good quality new set of custom rods.

6.00 or 6.50? He was asking about 6.5 and that is all that they have listed on their site, but I have been looking for 6.0 for myself with no luck except for ATR.

tyvm,
Tom

I believe Norbs used the ATRs in his motor and had some offset issues with them .

Oliver has the narrow off center rods on the shelf in 5.960 and 6.500 .927 pin. Like the fella said plan to spend $1000 but you can have in just a couple days. I have used the ATR rods with no problems they are an option. You will need to check rod to piston clearance and adjust if needed. The ATR rods are a deal for a steel rod. I would use the stock rods on an Eagle crank. Guys have been very fast with them. Cant say I have ever seen a stock rod broke.

What the hell ! What are you the stinking spelling police!! You need to spend more time checking roll bars, champion brackets and seats;)

On the Oliver rods issue , for a 109 block they have to be checked before any assembly is made . The last 2 sets I saw were too wide to fit thru a 3.8 standard bore !They also did not have the proper chamfer to fit the crank.(Scat)

I've had a few calls for rods for the eagle cranks the last week. I ordered in some Olivers, they are 6.00 long narrow journal and made to fit the stock cranks or the Eagle cranks. Cost is 1029.00 a set. These are all billett, I beam rods peaned and ready to go. Anyone in need I can have delivered to your door within a week or less. Also, I can have pistons, my preferance, Diamond, set up to go with the Olivers.
hope that helps.
