Which is stronger? I have a brand new in the box stock crank. I was thinking of getting an Eagle crank if it is stronger.

If you already have the crank i would probably just save the money and use it. Unless you have a pretty hefty combo and plan on beating the hell out of it.

I have a stock block .030 over that I put steel center caps w/ studs in and polished all the main webbing. I have a set of 6.625" rods that I need to get pistons built for. The stock stroke is what I need for these rods. I have a PT-52 turbo and 50 lb. injectors. I plan on going w/ a custom roller cam. I would like to have a combo that will go 11.0 without beating on it like I stole it.

What the HP rating on the stock turbo crank?

I am thinking i might have to go shopping for a steel Crank.:(

The Eagle will be stronger, but I wonder how much the stock crank can handle.

Anyone ever break a crank?

Stock crank has proven its self over and over. Cramer 9.99 @ 134mph. Your goals of 11.00 will work fine for the stock crank application. Just my .02

Well Roy Garcia has run 9.45 @143.92mph with his 3435lb GN that has a stock block (girdled) and stock (.010/.010) crank.... He's making around 900hp at the flywheel to run that fast so I think the stock crank is a little stronger than most people give it credit for.... The new Eagle crank should be stronger than the stock cast crank though considering it is 4340 forged steel and the price is right when you compare it to what a Billet or a good used BMS (Buick Motorsports) sells for.... For your goals the stock crank will work fine, but if you plan on going faster later the Eagle crank might be a good idea for you (piece of mind more than anything)....

never before has a steel crank for a buick been so affordable i don't care how fast you want to go you will never have to question what you will do if you get the eagle don't be fooled get the eagle and go as fast as you want or as slow as you want the other guy said it right get the eagle crank sell the stock one and let a good engine builder like nick mcahile or bruce at aggressive auto do your motor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!long live the king!!!!

Thanks for the replies. Well, I have decided to get an Eagle crank. I just bought a JW flywheel on E-bay. Since I'm going with the Eagle, I am going to sell my new stock crank. How much should I sell it for and should I put it on E-bay?

I would put it up with a "Buy it Now" of $100. Would you please email me as soon as you do that:D

If you do the Eagle crank then you must have an internal balance flywheel and balancer. The stock crank is external balanced.

The only people the make that stuff are:

JW:flywheel
BHJ:balancer with the interuptor ring

Both are SFI rated

When I was at the BG National the okbuicks.com club only wanted like $495 for the Eagle cranks brand new. I looked on the site a while ago and couldn't find anything about them, i'm guessing you would have to personally contact one of the top guys. I was tempted to buy one but didn't. Looking at the ebay price you could sell your crank for you would probably be close to buying the new eagle crank and aftermarket balancer for that much. BUT, you also have to factor in the price of balancing your rotating accembly at machine shop, which I am told is not cheap. Unless your making some serious HP I would just stick with the crank you have.
