ECM problem? maybe...

I have a goofy problem with my car. When the car is started, it idles fine, but under load it runs like the MAF is bad...sputtering, cutting out etc and the Scanmaster turn on. If I pull over, turn off the car, unplug the ECM power wire and plug it back in, the car runs fine, but still no ALDL signal to the scanmaster.


is it time for a new ECM? Yes, I have checked all of the connections on the Scanmaster, it says 2.1 when you hit the key, but as soon as the car starts, it doesn't show anything.

When driving, does the car drive alright sometimes then once you may hit a bump or anything in the road it will cutout/almost die and the SM will turn back on?

If so, it could be (this is what was wrong with mine) was the orange wire for the ecm had a short in the wire from the plug to the battery.

no, it will happen continuosly, but once the ECM is unplugged and reset, it will run fine.
