I hooked up a "reliable" vaccum tester on these things and I found that they had a small leak down. I plugged the solenoid front and back while testing too, so I know I did it right (can't really screw up the valve test).

Also....I'm a little geeked cuz I did find that I had ANOTHER vac leak (and probably small boost) at the T I made for the boost/vac gauge in the car. The only reason the T was put in there was to save the factory boost gauge....but after watching the stupid lights come on around 10 lbs (or less than 1/2 what I'm running), I figured it was time to go.

I ran the boost line direct to the metal line using the factory end (had to use adhesive and multiple zip strips). Hopefully, it never factored into my accuracy concerning actual boost levels (although who cares, as long as I don't have knock).

Anyway...the EGR line is the only one that is showing a "leak"...even though it is small (about 2-3 in Hg every sec), it didn't seem right...especially with the valve.

Anyone?

You can get the vacuum leak syndrome from a defective PCV valve too...

Well, I'm not testing for anything more than just defective parts. I disconnected the egr valve and solenoid and hooked a vacuum device directly to the parts. I now have the pcv catch can with gm pcv and in-line check valve. That and the boost line do not show and leaks at all.

The only "line" that is showing a vacuum leak is the egr (charcoal plugged and fp is fine).

It doesn't make sense that I'd see a vacuum leak in those devices....but that's why I thought I'd better ask.

Anyone know what I should see happening with these things concerning vac. tests?
