Alright. I've got some gremlins in the car that are voltage hungry. Here's what happened. I'm driving and then the car just plain stalls. So, I check the battery and the volts are all gone (brand new battery mind you). I eventually drive it the 3 miles from the gas station by getting it charged every half a mile and gunning it and letting it coast, lol. So, I get it home and in the garage, take off the alternator thinking it must be that since the belts what runs the car. I proceed to take it to autozone and get it tested and it passes 5 times with flying colors. So, now I took the battery out and am having it tested but have to wait an hour since it's dead so it must charge. What else could the problem be? I checked the ground from the battery and it's grounded well. I don't see any wire problems in the engine bay following from the battery to the alternator. So what else could be the problem? I just installed a scanmaster, maybe my positive or ground is in a bad place? Although unlikely as I followed the directions to the book. This is just frustrating, there is a car show in a week and a half and I want to enter. Plus my car looks horrible with all the dust gathering on top of it from the garage.

Turn the ignition switch on.
Does the VOLT light come on inside the cars dash cluster? left side second one down...

If the light doesnt come on, then the alternator will not charge.

If it does come on then the alternator is fine just like autozone said it was, make sure your battery connections are fine and overnight the trunk or hood light arent staying on.

Check your starter/solenoid

what's known as a high resistive short can be produced thru a bad starter. Also check to see if your starter cable insulation is resting against the heat shield and it cut thru the insulation w/ just enough resistance to prevent a direct short. I drove several months before mine completely shorted out and blew a hole in my shield. :o
