My fuel guage needle is stuck all the way down on the full side of the guage. also at the same time my backup and brake lights dont work either but the turn signals still do. I checked all the fuses and not one of them are blown. Would anybody have any idea as to what it would be? Thanx in advance.

I had a fuse blow that took out my dash lights and brake lights. Or was it tail lights? anyway, it was caused by the wire to the light by the shifter in the center console shorting out. Sometimes you can't tell by looking at the fuse that it is bad.

interrupted circuits

Hi,
Your fuel gauge circuit is open to the sender, which causes the gauge to read over full. I would start by checking the large linear(6 cavity or so)connector that feeds rear lighting . You should be able to access it by pulling the driver's kick panel. All terminals are in a single row,and the insulation is transparent multicolored, showing what looks like silver or aluminum wiring. There are, of course, a lot of possibilities here, but this is a concrete start, anyway.

I have a similar issue going on with my 86 GN regarding my dash lights.

the insp lps fuse keeps blowing and sometimes it takes the taillghts down with her. its driving me ****ing nuts. let me know what you find !!!

what color wire was it do you remember. i think i had this happen once when i got the car. it may be happening again

check the ground closely in the trunk ,drivers rear corner, thats where the gas gage sender and rear lights are grounded.
