engine noise( lifter question)

thanks guys, now my problem is engine noise, question?????? on the lifters for the atr cams, are you suppose to be able to push them in or they suppose to be firm? please let me know? i replaced all bearings in the motor, it had been open for a while and maybe moisture got to the lifters, i need lifter information...

Hi,
Did you pump the lifters up before installation? If not, the tappets are gonna clatter for a while. I HOPE they pump up. They should, but once in a while,a lifter will get a bug up the yin-yang, and refuse to do so. Good luck!

yeah i pumped them up, but some of them would n't move some of them you can push on and some you cant, i dont understand it ?

Hi,
Well, I imagine that the ones you couldn't pump up are the ones you are hearing right now. I have had similar issues before,and the lifter tick always went away EVENTUALLY.Sometimes, you have to drive these problems away.It doesn't build confidence in your new motor though, I know. It'll be fine, you'll see.

lifter noise

I also have what sounds like a lifter .about 500 miles.Hyd. roller with stock rocker arms.Doesn't hurt the way it runs!! From what I'm reading ,it may get quieter with some more miles?? Taking it back to my mechanic in a week or so.In the meantime I will watch and listen .BTW,at WOT it seems fine!!!
