I am wondering if anyone can tell me what to look for. My 87 GN has 52000 original miles on it. I changed the ECM Prom Chip to an Upgraded KB Chip. I wrapped on it pretty good one time and ever since then, there is a loud ticking coming from the front lower left of the engine area. I've checked it with a stethiscope and can't find where its coming from. I've had it looked at by a Professional Performance shop and several other mechanics and they all came to the same conclusion. They all said it could be timing chain noise and told me they doubted it was anything internal, but they were also not TR savy mechanics. To me the noise seems to be coming from around the oil pump area. Around the same time i changed the chip i began running a semi synthetic 20/50 oil as well. I've since put the original AC Delco chip back in and also went throught the trouble to remove and shim the cam sensor. Neither of which helped. The car still runs as strong as ever, it just has a ticking sound. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP, ITS DRIVING ME CRAZY TRYING TO FIGURE IT OUT. Thanks!
