What are my options? My water temp was running 180 today after sitting at a light with only a 70 deg day, don't remember it being that warm last year. This is just while cruising around. I have a 160 thermostat.
Seems like when enouigh air goes thru it the water temp is much cooler. Does this mean the rad is not cooling or the fan is not doing its job?
It is a fairly new re-cored stock design with stock fan.

I am only using the trans cooler not the oil. What would be the most economical way to go to get my engine to run cooler?

ramchargers fan set up! Best value! IMHO

Look on the vendors message board page. Ramchargers was giving a free fan wiring harness with the fans. Great deal for 75 bucks. Anything else will run you at least $250 to $300 plus! I have the Ramcharger fan set for my GN. The best thing to do for mounting is to get the derale fan mouting kit. It will save you from having to build brackets and all kinds of crap. Summit carries the kit and I'm sure some of the Turbo Buick sponsors have them as well.

What if my radiator is somehow getting plugged, not sure how since all I ever used is RMI-25 since new. But if, will the new fan still work as good as I'm being told with a rad not cooling very well?

What is the deraile mounting kit? Does the fan mount without any mods whatsoever? Thanks guys.

I'd jump the low speed to high speed wire first. Easy mod. if not already done.

Might get you about 10 degrees cooler.

Seems to have worked so far for me, but I haven't tried the A/C this year yet.

Kinda wish I didn't run all that stop leak through it two years ago trying to seal up my heater core....
