how much (if anything) is interchangeable between a 78 buick skyhawk 3.8L even fire V-6 engine and the 86/87 GN turbocharged 3.8L V-6 engine?
and what are the main differences of the longblock assy?

If I read my parts catalogs correctly you can use the better high port 79 and newer style heads on your block. You'll need to use the correct intake manifold so the ports line up. Sounds like the only thing the same are the dimensions of the block. You might be better off trying to find a complete motor depending on what your goal is here.
