Exhaust question.

Originaly I was going to run a 3 inch downpipe into a 2.5 cat back exhaust with magnaflow mufflers, but now the downpipe size is 3.5, so my question is, will the 3.5 downpipe and matching testpipe testpipe be restricted to much when the diameter drops to the split 2.5 pipes?

just a question but why not go to 3' exhaust with a 3.5 dp and testpipe? just curious. I would think that it would restrict it some but i wouldnt be able to tell you how much.

I didn't do the math but I think 2x(2.5)>3.5
As long as transition is smooth should be OK

I should have addresses that.

The reason is because when I purchased the 2.5 cat back exhaust I was originally going to use only a 3 inch DP, and no vendors were offering a 3" stainless system or I would have bought that.
