Hey to all just put on new exhuast manifold gaskets from TR customs remflex brand and according to the gasket packed instructions 12-16 ft lbs of tightness, I want to see should this be the guideline for a TR ? just didnt seem to feel tight enough. Any input thanks TB family

follow the instructions with those gaskets. Most of the people here dont use gaskets for the manifolds though.

Follow the instructions! Tighten from middle out. Overtighten and you can blow them out.

Big Reazon.... Why no exhaust gaskets? I am in the middle of replacing the head gaskets and was looking at different types of header gaskets.

I have the remflex on my one car, they work great! If you look at them you can see that there is a compressible section that will take care of any imperfections. If you over tighten it will be just like a regular gasket.

I would assume the heat burning up most gaskets. But I have read that most make sure flanges are true and use high temp rtv. But this is just what I have read. I haven't jumped that hurdle yet. There is a thread on it search remflex.

I have always had gaskets on my car, really by just not knowing I didnt need to but just kept them on. I have had a recent problem and a couple of backfires and poof gasket blown so i just went with a thicker gasket and I will tell you this since I put the gaskets on my exhuast is a lot quieter than it ever was they sealed up pretty good. I just wanted to make sure I needed to follow the gasket or car specs.
