Is there an initial "burn" for an extender chip relative to your combo ?

Im definitely going with a MAF conversion and was wondering if I should get the extender while I'm at it.

I have a relatively stock car (see sig, new 50's on the shelf)
I was browsing Ramchargers and noticed the extender chip upgrade, and wasnt really sure what that meant.

So if I got an extender now and then put in the 50's in the spring,
would I need to get an upgrade ? Is this how it works ?

please help this confused newbee

Yes if you got it setup for the stock injectors now.

No matter who's chip you have, if you change the size of the injectors you will have to upgrade or change the chip.
The extender prgram is added to the basic chip to work with the + (plus) feature of the translator.
This is how I understand it.

Chips are matched to injectors as well as other things in your setup.

The Extender allows a MAF Translator or Translator Plus owner to tune
the full throttle fueling with the dials in the translators.

The only difference between a MAF Translator and a Translator Plus
is that the Plus has spark advance control. The MAF/Fuel part of the devices
is the same. Therefore an Extender chip works well with either.

The Extenders have other features as well including anti-theft. The Ramchargers website
has details.
